Playing Selesnya in Commander

Selesnya is the color pair of armies and anthems. Green provides ramp and big creatures; white provides tokens, board wipes, and anthem effects that pump your whole team. Together they build wide boards faster than any other color pair and protect them with white's suite of protection spells.

Common Selesnya archetypes include token swarm (generate dozens of creatures and buff them), enchantress (green and white have the deepest enchantment synergies), +1/+1 counters (proliferate and double your way to enormous creatures), lifegain, and creature-based combo. Selesnya commanders often reward you for going wide — the more creatures you have, the bigger the payoff.

Selesnya's strength is board presence. Once a Selesnya deck gets rolling, its board state is terrifying — dozens of tokens backed by Doubling Season, Anointed Procession, and anthem effects. The weakness is interaction with the stack. Neither green nor white has counterspells (Lapse of Certainty notwithstanding), so you're vulnerable to combo decks that win without caring about your board. Your plan B is board resilience — Heroic Intervention, Teferi's Protection, and similar effects that let your army survive the board wipes that are coming for it.
