WBG Abzan Commanders
24 legal commanders. Pick one and build a deck with AI, or browse the full list below.
Abzan is the color trio of durability and recursion. White provides removal and protection; black provides tutors, sacrifice outlets, and reanimation; green provides ramp and the best creatures. Together they build decks that are extremely hard to kill — every threat comes back, every answer generates value, and the graveyard is an extension of your hand.
Abzan archetypes include aristocrats (sacrifice synergies with all three colors), +1/+1 counters (Abzan has deep counter support), reanimator (black reanimates what green and white put in the yard), enchantress, and graveyard-based combo. Abzan commanders like Karador cast creatures from the graveyard, Ghave generates infinite combos with +1/+1 counters, and Nethroi mutates to reanimate entire boards.
Abzan's strength is the most complete removal suite — white handles enchantments and artifacts, black handles creatures, and green handles anything with Beast Within. You also have the best recursion in the format. The weakness is speed and stack interaction. Without blue's counterspells and red's haste, Abzan decks can be slow to assemble and vulnerable to combo. You compensate with disruption — thoughtseize effects, removal, and hatebears that slow combo decks to your pace.
